Follow the Laughter - Kids Love Awbrey Glen

Awbrey Glen has kids from age 4 - 17 who love the game as much or more than adults.  Surrounded by a true golf neighborhood, Awbrey Glen kids will commonly ride their bikes to the club because they just can’t stay away.

You’ll recognize the Junior Golf program when you hear children’s laughter or see colorful props out on the practice greens.  Tim Fraley, our Director of Member & Player Development, creatively passes on the fundamentals and love of the game to your children or grandchildren through skillful, fun, & engaging lessons.  After practice, you’ll hear kids around the club saying they ‘can’t wait to get back to class!’  Our first-rate practice facilities offer a relaxed and casual way to experience the game using our 5-hole par-3 LOOP course and dual ended driving range.  Fun and approachable, Tim’s positive attitude is contagious, and his patience is endless.  And though his cart may be filled with toys and fun, he instills the etiquette and rich heritage of the game in ways that keep kids enthralled while developing into great golfers.

Awbrey Glen is an officially designated “US Kids Family Golf Course”.  As the kids improve and it’s time to try the full course, we have two sets of Family Tee Markers on every hole.

Operation 36 classes dominate the spring, summer and fall sessions building the foundations for Awbrey Juniors.  www.pgajuniorgolfcamps.com are great consecutive day options during June, July and August.  Early May starts up our www.Pgajrleague.com play now into our 9th season!

For more competitive junior golfers, Awbrey Glen is a leader in offering Junior Team Cup play with other local clubs. Junior golfers are represented in the Central Oregon Junior Golf Association (COJGA) and OGA/AJGA/US KIDS golf tournaments and we’re proud to say we have award winning students who have competed in USGA Boys Junior Amateur (Sam Renner 2019), won national AJGA tournaments (Asia Young 2021), competed at US Kids World Championships and Van Horn Cup (Asia Young and Owen Greenough 2021). To top it off, Owen Greenough qualified to go the 2022 Masters – Drive Chip and Putt Championships in the 12-13 boys’ division!

New for upcoming season we have organized non golf outings at some of our Central Oregon favorite places.  From mountain biking at the Mt Bachelor Bike park followed by tailgate barbecue in the parking lot to a snow day on the slopes of Mount Bachelor (for all our ski & snowboard enthusiasts) as well a trip to the Bend Rock Gym for some indoor action.
